Dr. Samuel O. Ojuade
Dr. Samuel O. Ojuade is a postdoctoral psychology resident whose career bridges clinical practice, research, and academic leadership.
Dr. Samuel O. holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in
Clinical Psychology from Daystar University, Nairobi, Kenya, and a Doctor of Ministry
(D.Min) from The Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary, Ogbomosho, Nigeria.
Dr. Ojuade completed his pre-doctoral internship at Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idi-Aba, Lagos, Nigeria. During this period, he also conducted his doctoral research at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Yaba, Oshodi Annex, Cappa, Lagos, Nigeria, focusing on the treatment of parasuicidal adolescents with mood disorders using Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). His research has contributed to the growing body of knowledge on adolescent suicidality and continues to inspire further inquiry in this critical area of mental health.
Clinically, Dr. Ojuade is oriented toward Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), yet his practice is distinctly integrative. He incorporates evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Motivation Enhancement Therapy (MET), Gestalt Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and other empirically supported interventions. His therapeutic philosophy emphasizes collaboration, walking alongside clients to facilitate meaningful change, resilience, and growth.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Ojuade has made substantial contributions to the academic field of psychology. He served as a senior lecturer in clinical psychology at Africa International University and Amref International University in Kenya, where he taught advanced courses, supervised trainees, and mentored emerging scholars. His teaching and mentorship reflect a commitment to developing ethical, evidence-based practitioners capable of addressing diverse mental health needs.
Dr. Ojuade is also the founder and CEO of PsycheBalmConsult, a psychotherapy centre in Kenya dedicated to providing accessible, high-quality psychological services. Through this initiative, he has expanded the reach of mental health care and promoted culturally responsive interventions.
